Frequently Asked Questions

Are you paneled with insurance? We are currently accepting Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO. We are in the process of paneling with United Healthcare and Aetna. In the meantime, we are offering clients a superbill to submit to Out of Network benefits and cash-pay services.

What is your cancellation policy? 48 hours notice is requested for all cancellations as a courtesy to your dietitian and other clients. You will be charged a no show fee in the event you have confirmed an appointment and do not attend. You will be provided with a written copy of the policy to sign at your first session. Reasonable accommodations for chronic illnesses can be discussed with each individual practitioner provided need is expressed proactively. Cancellation policies and no show fees are in place to promote the stability of our practice and allow for access to care for clients. Booking an appointment is reserving a clinician's time, and clinician's can only bill insurance for this time and get paid if clients show up to session. We ask you please respect the clinician dedicating time in their schedule for your appointment and allow them 48hours notice so they have the opportunity offer services to other clients if you cannot make it.

How long and how often do clients work with you? This practice offers both long term and short term counseling. Treatment is highly personalized and depends on your situation and goals. Frequency of visits often begins with weekly sessions then tapers off to every other week and even monthly. The duration of our work together depends on your goals and when you feel you have achieved what you came for.

What happens before our first session? Before our first session, you will receive an email containing some simple paperwork. This is where you will enter your billing information, sign consent forms, and view our practice policies. This should only take about 10 minutes. Our first sessions are scheduled for longer periods of time to review history and assess for needs. If you are seeking medical nutrition therapy for a chronic disease or malnutrition, we ask you have seen your medical provider recently and can provide updated labs.
